FAQs

Is this the right studio for me?

Yaletown Pilates is designed for those who prioritize technical precision and private, one-on-one instruction. We offer a discreet, boutique environment where accuracy, discipline, and physical mastery are the primary focus.

Cancellation Policy

Your appointment time is reserved exclusively for you. Late cancellations create an unfulfillable opening in our schedule. A strict 24‑hour notice is required for all cancellations or schedule changes; sessions canceled within this window and no-shows are therefore charged the session fee in full.

Standing Weekly Session Commitment

We do not operate as a drop-in studio. To ensure consistency, schedule priority, and results, our booking model is structured around a standing weekly session commitment, securing your recurring timeslots from week to week.

How many sessions per week should I attend?

Your frequency depends on your personal goals, schedule, and budget. While we recommend a higher frequency initially to master the foundations, every level of consistent weekly commitment yields valuable results

  • 3–4 Sessions per Week (Optimal Transformation): Recommended for those seeking rapid structural change, deeper neuromuscular retraining, and accelerated results.

  • 2 Sessions per Week (Consistent Progress): An excellent and highly effective cadence. This frequency builds strong, steady physical progression and maintains consistent momentum.

  • 1 Session per Week (Foundation & Maintenance): A practical option if your schedule or budget only permits one weekly visit. Because mastering the fundamentals requires repetition, a single weekly session is best supported by a guided independent home practice to bridge your time between studio sessions.

Can I attend with a friend for a duet?

Our focus is private, one-to-one instruction. However, duet sessions may be considered for clients who wish to attend with a partner of their choice and comparable fitness level. The 85-minute session is recommended for duets.

Due to the highly customized nature of tailoring for two persons, a 30% surcharge applies ($266 for 85 minutes, plus GST). Booking is subject to studio assessment and availability. To explore options, please submit the Duet Intake Form. Or inquire via the contact form with your requested times and weekly session frequency.

Are Pilates socks required? What do I wear?

Shoes Off : Socks On Policy - To maintain studio hygiene and cleanliness, outdoor shoes are left at the entrance and grip socks are mandatory for all sessions The non-slip tread also provides the essential stability required for safe, precise movement on the apparatus. Socks can be purchased at the studio for $20, or bring your own freshly washed pair.

What do I wear? - Wear comfortable, athletic clothing to allow for alignment observation and ease of movement.

Studio hygiene standards

We uphold the highest standards of clinical hygiene. The studio and apparatus are disinfected with hospital-grade solutions between sessions.

Our protocols ensure a sterile environment, protecting clients from the transmission of bacterial or fungal infections commonly carried on the feet.

Because Pilates involves direct hands-on contact with clients’ feet, which can carry infections unknowingly, grip socks are required for all sessions to protect the shared equipment, the teacher, and support our high standards of client care.

Location, Parking & Transit

The studio is located at The Post in Downtown Vancouver, bordering Yaletown. We are a 3-minute walk from the Canada Line and Expo Line Skytrain stations. For arrival instructions, parking details, and a video guide to locating the studio within the building, please visit our contact page.
